Hey Sovereign Citizens!
I just wanted to address this here because apparently it’s the new hip thing to argue with authorities about presenting your ID. You can play that kind of Russian Roulette game when you get pulled over by the police but please don’t harass my staff about it when you show up at my place looking for a good time.
There is no law that says you must present ID to a police officer; but, there is a law that says you have to present it to the clerk where they sell smoke supplies and you have to present it regardless of your age or membership in the military or AARP.
In fact, there is both a state law and a federal law addressing it; the Mississippi law is 2014 MS Code Title 97 § 97-32-51 – and I think its perfectly reasonable to ensure that people who come to shop at the adult store are in fact, ADULTS. There are 100 reasons underage people shouldn’t be in my store but I will let you pick your own.
On Dec 20, 2019 Congress passed a $1.37 trillion spending bill that included a provision to raise the minimum legal sales age for all tobacco products from 18 to 21 nationwide. This law Amends the Federal, Drug, and Cosmetic Act 906(d) to include a new subsection, 906(d)(5), which states: “Minimum Age of Sale ¬– It shall be unlawful for any retailer to sell a tobacco product to any person younger than 21 years of age.
So you show ID because Donald Trump said you have to, and he said it while there was a republican congress in place and he seems really pleased to have signed the bill.
This new amendment changed it so that the burden of checking IDs is not on the clerk or the customer but on the business that sells the items.
So, I as a business owner have to show that I have done my due diligence to make sure that everyone who comes onto my premises is of legal age to shop here.
No one is trying to capture your information and sell it on the dark web, The ID scanners we employ just calculate your age for the clerk to see and nothing about the machine is even connected to the internet. I know how these things work. I am the girl with the dragon tattoo, literally; Quan Yin riding the dragon goes all the way down my back, but Romantic Adventures has been keeping our customer’s secrets for 20 years now, and we are really good at it.
I have been accused of so many silly conspiratorial things that you guys make me want to go into the tinfoil hat business. I am sure it is booming.
Please calm down, and please bring your ID with you when you shop here because we try to obey all the laws of the land. It is not personal.
We are just trying to do business in a way that honors the people we serve and respects the laws and the culture of the place we live.
Please show respect to myself and my staff. We are just trying to bring you the products and devices that make your life more fun. No conspiracies are being hatched or perpetrated by us while you decide what you need.
If you want to work to change to rules; Democracy has a process for that. We will gladly obey them when the laws are loosened but until then we will just keep smiling and asking for your ID at the door.
Please don’t beat up on us; we are just the ones obeying the rules and trying to make sure you get more orgasms.
Hey Jackson; let’s get back to having more fun!
It's the Law!
